Update on 2024 tour: highlights from the TechExit.io conference

TechExit.io Toronto 2024 ✅

Some of my favorite things about last week’s event?

🤓 As a Numbers nerd

Listening to Diane Horton, who moderated the “Valuations – What’s your company really worth” panel (feat. the great insights of Megh Gupta, Ed Bryant and Russell Samuels) l beat a drum near and dear to our hearts at ForecaaS Software Inc.: the importance of knowing your numbers.

I particularly enjoyed the conversation around Net Retention Rate continuing to be the key metric to measure going into 2025 for those looking for funding or raising money in general.

Agree/disagree? Let me know!

👩‍❤️‍👨 As a Dad

Networking events can sometimes feel soulless so I loved the prioritization towards raising money to buy incubators for St Michaels Hospital. Felt good to give and made me feel better about being away from my own little ones. And shout out to Michael Hyatt for matching the donations!

💼 As a Biz Owner

Looks like 2025 will start to see a lot more activity in the market for funding, raising or acquiring. After a few years of rather minimal activity, we’re going to see a bounce back and investor purse strings start to loosen.

(Connect with me if you need advice on how to get your metrics trustworthy and ready for scrutiny – don’t let an Excel spreadsheet stop you from getting the funding you’re looking for)

I may not have been the exact target for some of the talks but I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the conversations I had so thanks to all I had them with!

Next Stop: SAAS NORTH Conference

(Yes, I was supposed to take more pictures but who can remember?? Remind me if you see me next week 😂 )
